The first court hearing in the case of Irina and Yuri Kormyshkin, the former people's deputy and her husband, took place today, March 14. The defense requested a closed hearing, and the court granted this request.

The prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment with guilty plea agreements of Kormyshkina and Kormyshkin to the court in February. The agreements were made at the stage of the pre-trial investigation.

According to the agreement, Irina Kormyshkina must admit her guilt, transfer 20 million UAH to the state budget, make a donation of 1 million UAH to the Armed Forces within 5 months, cooperate with the investigation, lead to savings of resources for the court and law enforcement agencies, and also lose the right to hold positions in state authorities for 2 years.

Yuri Kormyshkin also requested permission to travel abroad for treatment due to an injury he received. He was also asked in court to present guarantees, but this issue was postponed.

The hearing has been temporarily postponed. Next Time, the agreement regarding Yuri Kormyshkin's admission of guilt will be considered, which must also be approved by the court.

It should be noted that Irina Kormyshkina was previously accused of illegal enrichment amounting to over 20 million UAH, and later received additional suspicions of providing false information in her property declaration. Her husband was also accused of illegal enrichment. Her resignation from the position of deputy and the deprivation of her deputy mandate have already occurred.

After resigning her deputy mandate, Irina Kormyshkina became the head of the supervisory board of a company owned by her husband.
