The German Defense Minister named three principles of peace for Ukraine: what are they.
According to ТСН: The German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius during budget debates in the Bundestag expressed three main principles that, in his opinion, should form the basis for future peace negotiations in Ukraine.
Key Principles
Firstly, Pistorius emphasized the impossibility of forcing Ukraine into unilateral territorial concessions. He also noted that the Ukrainian state must remain capable of self-defense, for which strong armed forces and real security guarantees are necessary, particularly with the involvement of the United States.
Thirdly, issues related to the future of European countries, NATO or the EU cannot be decided 'behind the backs' of partners and allies.
'There can be no peace of capitulation. Such peace would not only be a betrayal of the Ukrainians. It would also mean strengthening... Putin's ambitions and encouraging other autocrats to follow suit,' Pistorius stated.
He also stressed that the aspiration for peace remains relevant and important, despite previous failures. However, these efforts must be real and lead to a safe Europe, as well as ensure a long-lasting, reliable, and just peace.
Moreover, in the new US peace plan for Ukraine, one of the proposals may complicate the use of frozen Russian assets to provide a credit of 140 billion euros to Kyiv.
It is also important to note the information that the Kremlin deliberately disclosed recordings of Trump’s aides speaking with the Russians.
Boris Pistorius's speech highlights the importance of supporting Ukraine and the need to ensure its security in the context of peace negotiations. Meanwhile, the discussion of the US peace plan indicates the complexity and unpredictability of international relations during this period when every move can significantly affect regional stability.
