In Kyiv, two men will stand trial accused of brutally beating a 42-year-old passerby and leaving him unconscious in the entrance of a multi-storey building. Investigators have completed the pre-trial investigation and submitted the indictment to court. The most severe punishment provided by the Criminal Code in this case is up to eight years of imprisonment. A press service of the Kyiv police reported this.

Invited to a feast, brutally beaten and left unconscious

The incident occurred in April this year in the Podil district. Police received a report about a man with injuries found in the elevator of a residential building on Poryka Street. Investigators, patrol officers, and medics immediately arrived at the scene. After establishing the circumstances, it became clear that the day before, two friends had been consuming alcohol near their home. A passerby joined them, whom the men invited to their home to continue the feast.

The next morning, a conflict broke out in the hallway between one of the hosts and the guest, during which a 39-year-old attacker hit the victim several times in the head. The victim suffered serious bodily injuries, including a closed head injury and a skull fracture. The other man, a 40-year-old apartment owner, hearing the quarrel, came out into the hallway but instead of helping, joined in moving the injured person to the elevator hall, where he was left unconscious. The police quickly detained both individuals. The attacker was charged under Part 1 of Article 121 (intentional serious bodily injury) and Part 1 of Article 135 (leaving in danger) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. His friend is also charged with a crime under Part 1 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The collected evidence allowed the case to be sent to court, where the accused face up to eight years of imprisonment. It is recalled that in Prykarpattia, a man and his son were tried for attacking a TCK employee. Recently, a verdict was announced in Poltava for a high school teacher who supported the attack of Russia on Ukraine. Two men in Kyiv are accused of brutally beating a passerby and then leaving him unconscious. The police detained the individuals, and the case has been sent to court, where they face up to 8 years of imprisonment.
