According to ТСН: Servicemen of the 63rd separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detained a citizen of Uganda near Lyman, who claimed to have participated in combat actions on Russia's side.

According to the brigade's press service, since the beginning of autumn, their units have repeatedly observed black mercenaries from the Russian Federation approaching Ukrainian positions without documents, complicating their identification.

Detention of the Ugandan citizen

On the eve of the New Year, a weary and frostbitten man without weapons, who was begging for help, appeared at one of the checkpoints near Lyman. It turned out to be a citizen of Uganda named Richard.

According to him, he came to Russia hoping for a job. For this purpose, he even took out a large loan for airfare. However, upon arrival in the Russian Federation, he was offered to sign a contract to participate in combat actions or face violence.

The 63rd brigade noted that instances of the use of foreigners in combat actions on Russia's side continue.

It was also reported that in the Siversky direction, Ukrainian soldiers captured two citizens of Cameroon.

This situation highlights not only the dangers of involving foreign mercenaries in military conflicts but also that many of them are given no other choice. Hundreds of people may become entangled in this problem due to promises that turn out to be deceptive. This is just one example of how war affects the lives of ordinary people and their destinies.
