Ukrainian Forces Hold the Line on Pokrovsk Front Despite Intensified Russian Air Strikes.
Situation on the Pokrovsk Front
According to UATV: Ukrainian Defense Forces are continuing to repel Russian assaults on the Pokrovsk axis, even as the enemy has escalated its airstrikes. The intensity of the fighting is underscored by 148 combat engagements recorded over the past day. Within this total, 61 separate assaults were launched specifically on the Pokrovsk front, highlighting it as a focal point of Russian offensive pressure. This sector has become one of the most active and critical in the entire war.
Ukrainian Defense Force Strategies
To counter the enemy's advance under these heightened conditions, Ukraine's defenders are employing drones as a key component of their defensive strategy. The towns of Kostiantynivka and Lyman remain primary targets for the Russian army's offensive operations, indicating their continued strategic importance in the broader conflict.
Serhiy Bratchuk, a spokesperson for the Defense Forces, stated: 'One of the key sectors of the front at the present moment is the Pokrovsk direction.'
He also emphasized the importance of operational security, noting: 'I am sure we should end the sentence there. We cannot discuss our measures, those that will be or could be carried out by the Defense Forces.'
Consequently, the situation on the Pokrovsk front remains severe, with Ukrainian troops taking all necessary measures to defend their positions amid intense combat. The persistent fighting in this area demonstrates the high value both sides place on controlling these territories. Faced with relentless assaults, Ukrainian forces are adapting their tactics, leveraging modern technologies like drones to mount an effective defense, a testament to the protracted and grinding nature of this conflict.
