Latest Developments on the Frontline
According to UATV: On July 21, a total of 63 combat engagements were recorded along the front line, particularly in the areas around Sloviansk and Kostiantynivka. In Kostiantynivka, street battles are ongoing, with front-line positions frequently shifting between the two sides.
In the northern part of Sumy Oblast, the Russian military carried out limited offensive operations on July 19 and 20. However, on the Northern Slobozhanskyi axis, Ukrainian forces destroyed two artillery pieces, a mortar, and a UAZ vehicle, while also eliminating three Russian soldiers. Over the past three weeks, Ukrainian drone operators have killed more than 200 Russian personnel on the Pokrovsk front.
Ukraine’s Defensive Forces Show Effectiveness
Ukraine’s defense forces continue to demonstrate their effectiveness, having eliminated 1,370 Russian military personnel in the previous day alone. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, total Russian army losses have exceeded 1,431,000 individuals. It has been reported that the 15th Separate Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade 'Black Forest' came under attack from a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet and a Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun system.
Commenting on the situation, Serhiy Bratchuk stated:
“The Eastern Front remains the most active.”
Ihor Romanenko added that “Kostiantynivka is attracting attention in terms of organizing combat operations.” These remarks underscore the region’s strategic importance in the context of the ongoing hostilities.
The situation on the front remains tense, with active combat operations unfolding across multiple axes. The heavy losses inflicted on Russian troops highlight the effectiveness of Ukraine’s defense, as well as its use of advanced technologies such as drones. The significance of Kostiantynivka as a strategic point continues to emphasize the necessity of controlling this area for both sides in the context of a protracted war.
