Police Granted Authority to Detain Military Registration Offenders: The Process Explained.
Understanding the Process for Military Registration Violators
According to Novyny.live: During a general mobilization, police are authorized to detain individuals who violate military registration laws. This legal framework is a key part of Ukraine's mobilization efforts. Following a citizen's detention, standard procedure requires that a lawyer be summoned, after which the detainee is transferred to a Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRC). This system ensures police play a crucial role in enforcing military registration compliance while also safeguarding the rights of those detained.
Police have the authority to detain such offenders and deliver them to the TRC authorities. Subsequently, a lawyer is always called, and the citizen is handed over to TRC representatives.

It is important to note that TRC military personnel themselves do not have the power to detain citizens. Once an offender is transferred to the TRC, they may be obligated to pay a fine, with the processing period ranging from 15 to 40 days. This year's mobilization includes men aged 50 to 60, highlighting the critical need for adherence to registration protocols under current conditions.
The Significance of Detaining Registration Offenders
Detaining those who break military registration rules during a general mobilization is a vital component of national security. Systematic control over compliance with military regulations, especially given the ongoing conflict, underscores the necessity for clear cooperation between law enforcement and military structures. This collaboration not only helps maintain order but also facilitates the timely staffing of military units, which is critically important in the context of the country's current military situation.
