A large explosion occurred near Zhytomyr, and patrol police were dispatched to the scene. The National Police published the relevant video on Telegram.
How the rescue of people took place
'On July 2, around 6 PM, powerful explosions occurred at one of the enterprises on the 126 km of the M-06 Kyiv - Chop highway (near the village of Berezina, Zhytomyr region)', the police reported.
The explosions resulted in two deaths and over 80 injuries. Dozens of houses were destroyed and approximately 100 others were damaged.
'Thanks to coordinated actions, residents of the damaged houses were quickly evacuated. Police provided first aid, transported the injured to ambulances, cleared the debris, ensured access for emergency vehicles, and regulated traffic', the police added.
It is worth noting that the explosions occurred at two production facilities that were completely destroyed. Initially, reports indicated an explosion at a gas station, but it later turned out that it happened nearby.
As a result of this incident, President Volodymyr Zelensky took control of the situation.
