The Captured Occupant in a Fur Coat Described His Adventures at the Front.
Ukrainian soldiers rescued a Russian prisoner who attempted to commit suicide. 29-year-old Dmitry Nikitin admitted that he took this step due to his failures. Ukrainian soldiers provided him with food, water, cigarettes, and even a fur coat.
The Russian serviceman began to think about suicide due to personal problems and the lack of family and home. After joining the army, his life became even worse. But during his service at the front, he changed his decision and tried to escape with his friend. They were arrested and sent back to the front. Upset by the consequences of this situation, Nikitin decided to shoot himself in the hand, as the command said that those who returned without injuries would be destroyed.
The prisoner was promised that he would be released, but instead received leftovers of clothing and was sent back to the front. However, the Ukrainian soldiers turned out to be humane, feeding him, giving him clothes, and showing compassion. This surprised the Russian serviceman, who expected cruelty in captivity. Dmitry is convinced that Ukraine is full of Nazis who treat prisoners brutally.
Previously, other prisoners reported about the brutal and torturous treatment of Ukrainian citizens who are in captivity of Russian security forces. They face physical and psychological violence, daily beatings, and constant pressure on their morale.
