Poland is a leader in labor activity among migrants from Ukraine.

According to the Office for Foreigners in Poland, about 1 million Ukrainian citizens are benefiting from the country's temporary protection. This situation began to take shape in early 2025 due to Russia's war against Ukraine.

In addition, one and a half million Ukrainians hold valid residence permits in Poland. Professor Agata Górny from the Migration Research Center at the University of Warsaw noted that about 90% of labor migrants from Ukraine have found jobs, while among military migrants, this figure is 60-70%. This is significantly higher than in Germany.

Górny pointed out that there is polarization of employment within the Ukrainian migrant group. Some individuals occupy skilled positions, while others work in low-skilled jobs. It is also worth noting that many Ukrainians in high positions work remotely for Ukrainian companies. The most popular sectors of work for foreigners are construction, services, and trade.

At the same time, citizens of Belarus rank second in number among migrants. Agata Górny highlighted that many of them obtain the Pole's Card as they have Polish roots. She also indicated that Polish society remains open to migrants in large cities, but new solutions are needed for migration policy.
