Poland Elects Karol Nawrocki as New President: What This Means for Ukraine.

Karol Nawrocki won in the second round of the presidential elections in Poland. His victory became apparent: he received support from 50.89% of voters, surpassing Rafał Trzaskowski, who garnered 49.11% of the votes. Over 71% of voters participated in the election.

Nawrocki was known for his support of conservative views and active involvement in studying Polish history, including his participation in dismantling Soviet monuments and researching the Volhynian tragedy.

Although Nawrocki's position on Ukraine is complicated, he emphasizes the importance of resolving historical issues with Ukraine. He promises to refrain from deploying the Polish army to Ukrainian territory and not to sign laws regarding Ukraine's NATO membership. Despite the contentious moments, Nawrocki is open to maintaining cooperation with Ukraine if he wins the elections.
