Poland will assist in the opening of the first cluster for negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the European Union, as well as possibly other clusters.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of the European Council Donald Tusk made this announcement in a joint statement signed on January 15 in Warsaw, according to Ukrinform.

Statement: 'EU enlargement means the expansion of the security zone in Europe. Poland will assist in the process of Ukraine's accession, specifically for the opening of cluster 1 'Fundamentals' and potentially other negotiation clusters.'

Ukraine and Poland will work together with European partners to ensure security, strength, and protection in Europe. This will include providing military support to Ukraine, using frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine, including the Fund for Aid to Ukraine within the European Peace Fund.

The statement also notes that Ukraine and Poland, together with the USA and other partners, will continue efforts to isolate Russia and strengthen EU sanctions against it. They will also cooperate to combat Russian disinformation and cyberattacks to enhance Europe's resilience against such hostile actions.
