The Italian Robinson Crusoe has died, who lived 32 years on a deserted island

85-year-old Italian Robinson Crusoe Mauro Morandi died in Modena due to a brain hemorrhage. This was reported by Antonio Rinaldis, co-author of a book about Morandi's life on the island.

In 1989, Morandi arrived on Budelli Island near Sardinia and decided to stay there. The island enchanted him with its beauty. However, in 2016, due to health risks and non-compliance with building regulations of his house, Morandi was evicted. Since then, the island has become part of the national park of the La Maddalena archipelago.

Morandi shared his memories of 32 years on the island. He made sculptures from branches, cooked on a gas stove, and read books brought from the town of La Maddalena. He also took care of the island and protected its ecosystem. Today, Morandi is considered a national hero of Italy and a symbol of freedom.

Morandi was born in Modena, where he lived with his wife and daughters before moving to the island. He always sought to find harmony and happiness in his life, and Budelli gave him that. After Morandi's death, one of his supporters wished him a happy journey and is convinced that no one will ever be able to evict him from the island.
