UPA liaison Angelina Palamar has passed away

Angelina Palamar, known as UPA liaison under the pseudonym Orysia, has died at the age of 101. This was reported by Oleg Tyahnybok, the head of the Svoboda party.

Angelina was born on August 16, 1924. She witnessed the horrific crimes of Russian occupiers when she was only 15 years old. Her father and brother were shot by the NKVD, and this tragedy profoundly changed her life.

Angelina joined the UPA and swore allegiance to Ukraine. When she was arrested, she had to endure brutal beatings, but she betrayed no one. For this, she was sentenced to 10 years in camps and 5 years of exile, but the UPA liaison did not break and remained faithful to the struggle for Ukraine's independence.

In 2017, Angelina participated in the Heroes March in Kyiv, and in 2024 she was awarded the medal 'Ukraine Above All!'.
