Grape prices in Ukraine have increased by 30-40%, Agravery.com reports.

Lately, there have been sharp changes in the cost of some products in the Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market. One of these examples is grapes. According to the 'Shuvar' market in Lviv, grape prices have significantly increased. Currently, on average, white and dark varieties were sold for 85 hryvnias per kilogram, which is much more expensive than a year ago. Prices for black varieties have increased by 30.8% and white ones by 37.7%.

The main reasons for such an increase in prices, according to Tetyana Popovych, the head of the Shuvar market, are the consequences of drought, which affected the quality and volumes of the harvest, as well as problems with grape supplies from the main production regions due to war and logistics issues.

Experts predict a slight decrease in prices until the end of the harvest, but do not expect a significant decrease due to logistics and grape production issues. Due to the war, the geography of supplies has changed, and western regions of Ukraine have started actively developing viticulture and increasing their market share.
