Trump's peace plan will fade in a few days: Portnikov's forecast

According to ТСН: Vitalii Portnikov, a Ukrainian journalist and publicist, believes that the so-called peace plan of Donald Trump, despite being actively discussed by European leaders, will quickly lose its relevance. Portnikov emphasizes that this situation will 'dissolve' in just a few days, repeating the fate of the 'mineral deal.'

In his interview, he explained why European leaders, including British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, are involved in the discussion of a plan that, according to him, 'does not exist,' making adjustments to it. In Portnikov's opinion, Europeans are trying to avoid filling the document with new points and are seeking to reach an understanding with Trump, who acts more as a 'listener' than a 'reader.'

'I think the next thing that awaits us is simply the end of this story, the beginning of some new one... I assume that French President Emmanuel Macron, who calls Trump on his mobile, has already called 25 times. ... 'So, I want to add a few points to the document that are very important for France.' And then the French president begins to explain intelligently to his colleague that he is crazy. And Trump listens and begins to understand that the situation is not so good and that he needs to find a way out of it.'

The journalist believes that in this way, Europeans are pushing Trump towards making a decision favorable to him, finding a way out of the situation. Portnikov predicts that this initiative will have the same ending as previous 'agreements' by Trump.

'In a few days, this story will simply dissolve. Just like the mineral deal dissolved... Although many think it is still in effect.'

Previously, Portnikov noted that the 'Trump peace plan,' which caused a great resonance in Ukraine and Europe, is just an illusion and a bluff. He is convinced that Putin has no intention of ending the war, as his goal is the disappearance of Ukraine from the political map of the world.

The journalist also explained that in reality, there is no Trump plan at all. After unsuccessful negotiations with Putin, Trump decided to put pressure on and implemented painful sanctions against major Russian oil companies like 'Rosneft' and 'Lukoil.'

It should be noted that diplomat Valerii Chaly claims that the presented 28-point plan is an element of a Russian special operation aimed at changing the aspects of the war and weakening the definitions of 'aggressor' and 'victim.'

Portnikov's position is interesting because it reflects a deep skepticism regarding Trump's real intentions and those of his team. In the context of global political changes and a tense international atmosphere, the reaction of European leaders to Trump's proposals only highlights how complex modern diplomacy is. It is evident that the decline in trust towards such a 'plan' could have further consequences not only for the USA and Europe but also for international security as a whole.
