Contractor in Kharkiv Region Failed to Fulfill Defense Contract: Court Ordered Him to Pay 900 Thousand.
In the Kharkiv region, a contractor who was responsible for the construction of fortifications failed to meet the terms of the contract. The court obligated him to compensate the state for damages.
Case Details
In February of last year, the Department of Kharkiv OVA signed a contract with a LLC for the construction of fortifications. The estimated cost of the work was over 22 million hryvnias. As an advance, the contractor received 9.9 million hryvnias for purchasing materials. After completing the work, he was supposed to return the remaining money or confirm by acts that he had completely spent it for its intended purpose.
The customer emphasized that the construction has strategic importance for the region's defense capability. Despite this, the LLC did not complete the work on time and did not return the money to the budget. In order to recover damages for the state, the prosecutor's office appealed to the court.
Court Decision
The judge concluded that the contractor violated the terms of the contract. According to the ruling of the Economic Court of Kharkiv Region, almost 900 thousand hryvnias will be collected from the LLC in favor of the state.
Recall that in Odesa region, a military man inflicted minor injuries on a neighbor. He was fined.
We also reported that in Ivano-Frankivsk region, a border guard was sentenced to two years of conditional imprisonment. The state border guard helped military conscripts escape from Ukraine.
As a result of non-compliance with the terms of the contract for the construction of fortifications in the Kharkiv region, the contractor is obligated to compensate the state for more than 900 thousand hryvnias. Restoring the defense capability of the region is a key aspect in ensuring the country's security, so the failure to fulfill such contracts has serious consequences.
