RNSC Representative Stated that TikTok Brings More Threats than Telegram.

Alina Alexeyeva, Deputy Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) of the RNSC of Ukraine, expressed concerns about the threats spread by the social platform TikTok.

According to her, this social network may pose a greater danger than the popular messenger Telegram. Her words are conveyed by the CCD.

Alina Alexeyeva emphasized that TikTok creates more threats than Telegram.

This is because the platform is actively used to spread Russian propaganda, especially among the youth. TikTok’s algorithms facilitate the viral spread of disinformation, making it quickly accessible to large audiences.

She also highlighted that the content on TikTok is often uncontrolled and because of its popularity among young people, it becomes a powerful tool of influence on consciousness and public opinion formation.

«Telegram has certain limitations in the format of information exchange, but TikTok, due to its algorithms, can promote propaganda content much faster. This creates serious challenges for Ukraine's information security», added Alexeyeva.

Alina Alexeyeva expressed concern about the spread of false information and stressed that government organizations and civil society should pay special attention to this platform and take active measures to counter disinformation.

Let us recall that the short video social network TikTok blocked more than 40 accounts linked to Russian state media, including Sputnik and RT International.

This happened after the USA imposed new sanctions against these media for spreading disinformation.

Joe Biden signed a law banning TikTok in the USA if the Chinese company ByteDance does not sell its stake.

Later, it became known that the TikTok social network could be blocked in the European Union.
