Czech Ammunition Initiative: Ukraine Received Ammunition Worth 274 Billion Crowns.
According to ТСН: Czech companies, as part of the ammunition supply initiative, provided military material to Ukraine worth approximately 274 billion crowns.
Statements from the Czech Government
This information was disclosed by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček. Babiš noted that the previous government of Petr Fiala hid details of the project and did not provide information publicly. Fiala, in turn, criticized Babiš, stating that open comments could threaten the safety of participants and lead to economic losses.
Babiš emphasized that the new government fulfills its obligations without using the Czech budget, although the Czech Republic continues to coordinate the initiative with foreign partners.
"We knew nothing about the ammunition initiative, the previous government constantly hid information, keeping it secret in the military intelligence budget. This was completely opaque"- the Prime Minister emphasized.
Financial Details of the Initiative
In recent weeks, ministers from ANO, SPD, and Motorists learned that through Czech companies within the initiative, approximately 280 billion crowns had been received. The Director of the Intergovernmental Defense Cooperation Agency (AMOS) Aleš Vytěčka confirmed this data, noting that 17.1 billion crowns had been spent from the Czech budget and that the entire operation was carried out under the classification of "completely secret".
Havlíček clarified that 114 billion crowns had been used as part of the initiative, and another 160 billion was received on a similar principle, resulting in a total amount received by various donors that ultimately reached Ukraine.
Collaboration with International Partners
The Czech Republic cooperates with the Netherlands and Denmark, acting as a coordinator and carrier, seeking ammunition stocks worldwide and organizing international financing. Major suppliers include other states, among which are Germany, Canada, and the Netherlands. Last year, Ukraine received 1.8 million units of ammunition, and since the beginning of the initiative, their total number has exceeded 4 million. According to former Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, donors provided ammunition for Ukraine worth about 100 billion crowns, of which the Czech Republic contributed two to three billion.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that the new government of the Czech Republic under Prime Minister Andrej Babiš changed its position regarding the ammunition supply project to Ukraine.
