The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during his visit to Donetsk, visited the location of the 59th Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems named after Yakiv Handziuk. During the meeting, the president awarded the soldiers. This is reported by the Office of the President.
«A report on the situation in the brigade's area of responsibility, the use of unmanned systems, electronic warfare means, and robotic complexes that the brigade produces independently. I spoke with the commanders of the units regarding the recruitment and training of new pilots, needs for specific types of weapons and equipment. I noted our warriors with state awards. Thank you for eliminating the occupier. Thank you for your service», – the message states.
It is worth noting that the 59th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade was formed in Vinnytsia and is based in Haysyn. Since January 2025, it has been called the Separate Assault Brigade of Unmanned Systems named after Yakiv Handziuk.
Currently, the 1124th day of the full-scale war in Ukraine is ongoing.
