Zelensky on de-occupation: military path is impossible, diplomacy is needed.
De-occupation of territories through military means - what Zelensky says
According to The Telegraph, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky acknowledged that it is impossible to liberate the territories temporarily occupied by Russia through military means. Diplomatic efforts will be needed for de-occupation.
According to The Telegraph, Zelensky emphasized the importance of seeking diplomatic paths to return Ukrainian lands from under Russian occupation. Ukraine is ready to consider the possibility of a ceasefire on the current front line, but only on the condition that it is not seen as recognition of Russian control over the occupied territories.
'This is explained by the fact that the constitution does not allow changing the territorial structure of the country or reconciling with the violation of its territory without the appropriate procedures. Zelensky acknowledged that using military force to liberate occupied lands is now an unattainable path and suggests focusing on diplomatic solutions'
Recently, responding to rumors that a meeting with Putin should precede negotiations with Trump, President Trump noted that such a condition is not set. Earlier, Zelensky himself explained his expectations from meetings with Trump and Putin.
Ukrainian President Zelensky acknowledged the importance of diplomatic paths in de-occupying temporarily occupied territories, excluding the use of military force, which is already an unattainable measure. He emphasized the importance of adhering to constitutional norms and seeking peaceful solutions to resolve the conflict.
