The impact of devaluation on prices in Ukraine
Head of the National Bank Andriy Pyshny noted that the devaluation of the hryvnia against the euro significantly affects prices. The increase in the value of European currency and its strengthening against the dollar has already led to rising fuel prices, which may also impact other goods and services in the future.
'The exchange rate of the hryvnia began to play a significant role in 2025 under the influence of global instability and tariff wars. This led to changes in the exchange rate, which affects the exchange rate of the hryvnia against the euro. This effect may continue to be observed',Pyshny explained.
The head of the National Bank warns of possible price increases on products due to the devaluation of the hryvnia, so it is worth being prepared for rising food prices in the coming months.
Important facts for Ukrainians
