Pro-Russian politician Boyko made a strange statement, the National Security and Defense Council reacted.
Boyko spoke about radicals and violence in Ukraine
Head of the 'Platform for Life and Peace' Yuriy Boyko published a video in which he stated the presence of radicals who rename cities, dismantle monuments, and restrict freedom of language and religion. He posted the clip on TikTok.
Boyko reminded that a few years ago similar actions were taken in the USA regarding the monuments to Christopher Columbus - the discoverer of America.
According to the deputy, Ukrainian radicals have taken the same path, dismantling monuments, renaming cities, and restricting the freedom to speak their native language and choose their faith. Now we see the continuation of this movement and the continuation of violence against people.
Boyko added that more and more people support those who oppose violence, seek national unity, and support citizens.
Response from the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, reacted to Yuriy Boyko's statement.
According to Kovalenko, such statements from Boyko in 2024 seem strange since they do not mention Russia, which is the only one committing violence against Ukrainians.
Kovalenko noted that it would be useful if the people's deputy constantly reminded about this if he really works in the interests of Ukraine. However, he believes that Boyko does not do this, which is outrageous.
Previously, Boyko was fined for the liquidation of the Opposition Platform - For Life.
Let us remember that Yuriy Boyko is one of the leaders of the OPZZH, a banned pro-Russian party, and still holds the title of Hero of Ukraine, which was awarded to him in 2004 for his contribution to the development of the fuel and energy complex.
