According to ТСН: Russian leader Putin has significant capabilities, including the ability to send his citizens to war, but he is not ready to admit defeat in the conflict with Ukraine.

Belgium's Prime Minister Bart De Wever spoke about this during an interview.

He also commented on the European Commission's initiative regarding 'reparatory loans' for Ukraine, which are proposed to be funded by frozen Russian assets, noting that EC President Ursula von der Leyen is forced to travel around Europe in search of a compromise.

Preservation of Frozen Assets

In a conversation with Ursula von der Leyen and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, De Wever emphasized the importance of preserving frozen Russian assets as a potential leverage in negotiations with Putin.

“You cannot serve the cake three times and eat it at the same time. And if we use this money to finance the war, we also assume that the Russians will be exhausted in two years. They are a strong people,” the Prime Minister emphasized.

Putin's Capabilities

He also noted:

“A tsar like Putin can do everything: starve his people, lead them to slaughter, and here and there commit genocide. But to lose the war? That he cannot do.”

It was previously reported that the economic situation in Russia is becoming increasingly critical. Analysts predict that the Kremlin has 6 to 12 months left to achieve its goals in Ukraine without total collapse of the social sphere.

It was also noted that President Volodymyr Zelensky is confident that Putin is not interested in any referendum in Ukraine.

The situation in the region remains tense, and the actions of world leaders can significantly influence the further development of events. It is important for the international community to continue working on a strategy that would promote stability in Ukraine and reduce the risks of further escalation of the conflict.
