Russia attacks Bessarabia: a new Kremlin strategy to block Ukraine's exports.
According to ТСН: The attacks by Russian forces on the southern areas of the Odesa region, particularly in Bessarabia, are part of the Kremlin's strategy aimed at isolating the region and blocking exports to Europe.
Strategic Isolation of Bessarabia
Experts believe that the enemy is trying to destroy transport links that are critical for Ukraine's economic stability. Successful attacks on these key nodes can cut off the southern part of the region from other parts of the country.
“The attempt to cut off Bessarabia is definitely an attempt to sever the south of the region from the mainland part of Odesa and complicate our logistics, particularly the logistics routes to Europe, which are critical and important for our trade and economic situation. The Russians are aware of this,” emphasized Andriy Tkachuk.
The expert also believes that Odesa has become a platform where the occupiers are testing the tactics of destroying logistics corridors that they may apply in other regions of Ukraine.
“I believe that in the example of Odesa they are testing these moments of cutting our logistics and may repeat such events in other regions where there are logistics routes that can significantly impact the economic or defense situation,” warns the officer.
State Reaction and Alternative Routes
The expert reported that despite the difficult circumstances, Ukraine is already implementing countermeasures. In particular, this involves establishing alternative routes through Moldova and strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure. He stressed that the government’s response is complex and encompasses not only transport but also energy and air defense.
“I think there are options for logistics, they can be adjusted. And our current government is working on this to influence it… There is a response both to the shutdowns and to the logistics problem, there is a response to the problems overall in the command of air defense forces regarding the south for now,” the expert concluded.
He also added that the list of critical enterprises receiving electricity is currently being reviewed to prioritize the needs of the civilian population amid constant attacks.
Recently, Russian troops attacked Odesa, resulting in damage to a critical infrastructure facility, and one area of the city was partially left without electricity.
A large attack on the energy infrastructure of Odesa region had previously been recorded, leading to power outages in Odesa and other settlements in the region.
As a result of past attacks, parts of Odesa and adjacent settlements were left without electricity, water, and heating.
The situation in Odesa region remains tense due to ongoing attacks by Russian forces. Ukrainian authorities are taking measures to strengthen logistical corridors and protect critical infrastructure. The restoration of electricity supply and ensuring the basic needs of the population remains a priority, as attacks on energy infrastructure continue.
