No one in Moscow has yet confirmed the Russian side's readiness to meet with the Ukrainian president. Incredible comments in response to such discussions have been made by representatives of the Kremlin. Experts believe that Putin has not yet decided whether he wants to talk to Zelensky. This impression is shared by political scientist Chalenko in an interview on the FREEDOM channel.
Putin's proposal to Trump for a meeting in Moscow was dismissed as unworthy of attention. Political scientist Chalenko believes that an objective platform is needed for such discussions, for example, Geneva, the Vatican, or Helsinki. Meanwhile, Budapest is not considered an appropriate place for a meeting between Trump, Zelensky, and Putin due to past events and Orbán's politics. However, Chalenko notes that Putin, according to U.S. Secretary of State Rubio, did agree to meet with Zelensky, although this could simply be theoretical rhetoric. According to the expert, only an increase in sanctions against Russia will force Putin to actively seek communication with the Ukrainian leader. Overall, it is important to maintain pressure on Putin and seek support from European leaders in negotiations that will determine the future of the continent.'The Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov responded regarding the meeting, but his words were quite indistinct, resembling a scheme we have heard before. Similarly, the situation with Putin's assistant Ushakov was alike. So, perhaps, the dictator is still hesitating whether he should really meet with Zelensky. We are observing provocations from Russia on this issue' - he noted.
