Putin handed Trump one American and immediately arrested another.

At Vnukovo Airport, a U.S. citizen was detained, whose luggage allegedly contained marijuana candy. The arrest occurred after a prisoner exchange between the U.S. and Russia: Washington returned its citizen Mark Vogel, while Moscow returned Alexander Vinnik. This was reported by the Russian online edition 'Agency. Novosti'.
According to customs service data, the American arrived on a flight from Istanbul. In the man's luggage, preliminary data indicated that half a kilogram of marijuana was found, hidden in candy. The U.S. citizen, Bayer K. U., was taken into custody and charged with drug trafficking in large quantities, which carries a penalty of five to ten years in prison.
The U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Issues, Steve Vitkoff, visited Moscow on February 11 to retrieve American Mark Vogel, who was imprisoned on drug possession charges. This was reported by U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz and the New York Times.
Waltz stated that President Trump, Steve Vitkoff, and presidential advisors held discussions about the exchange, which is a gesture of goodwill from the Russians. He did not disclose any details about whether the United States released anyone in response or what steps the Trump administration took to secure Vogel’s release.
Later, Adam Beoler, who was elected as the U.S. Special Envoy for Hostage Affairs, stated in a comment to CNN that the U.S. freed the American teacher Mark Vogel who had been imprisoned by Russia. He has now returned to the territory of the United States.
