Canada to provide Ukraine with over 1.5 billion dollars in military aid

According to FREEДOM: Canada promises to provide Ukraine with nearly 1.5 billion dollars in military aid as part of the G7 agreements. This was announced by Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney during his visit to Kyiv. This amount includes supplies of drones, ammunition, and armored vehicles for the Ukrainian army. Canada will also allocate tens of millions of dollars for emergency assistance to the civilian population of Ukraine — for the construction of bomb shelters and countering Russian cyberattacks, reports FREEДOM.

In Kyiv, the Canadian Prime Minister called for stopping Putin

Putin can be stopped — it is within the power of Kyiv and its partners. With this statement, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney spoke in Kyiv on Ukraine's Independence Day. This is his first visit to the Ukrainian capital since taking office as the head of government.

'He started this terrible aggression that has taken millions of lives. He terrorizes your skies, threatens your cities, and has kidnapped your children. But Putin can be stopped — the Russian economy is weakening, he is becoming increasingly isolated. Meanwhile, our alliance is becoming ever stronger, more determined, and united,' said Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

The meeting with Mark Carney was described as very meaningful by the President of Ukraine. The main topics of discussion included work within the 'coalition of the willing', sanctions against Russia, cooperation in defense and energy, assistance in the recovery of Ukraine, and the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers. The parties signed a number of documents, including an action plan for the implementation of the security guarantees agreement between Ukraine and Canada, as well as an agreement on the production of drones.

'Canada is an active participant in the 'coalition of the resolute' and we expect that Canadians will take an active role in implementing security guarantees... We believe that Canada should be represented in the development of defensive commitments at the same level as our closest partners in Europe involved in this process,' said President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

Canada is ready to join the PURL program, which allows increasing assistance to Ukraine through the purchase of weapons from the USA. This adds an additional 500 million dollars, said the President of Ukraine. These funds will be directed towards the production of UAVs. For his part, Mark Carney stated that he does not rule out the possibility of sending Canadian troops to Ukraine as part of the deployment of multinational forces. He assured that Ottawa will continue military assistance to Kyiv.

'800 million dollars will help strengthen Ukraine's arsenal in terms of urgent defense weapons — ammunition, drones, armored vehicles. We are also talking about guidance systems and precision instruments now... We have also added 200 million dollars for joint production of advanced drones with suppliers from Canada. And another 460 million dollars will go towards mobilizing resources for humanitarian support for citizens affected by this war,' said Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney.

Ukraine received support from senior US officials

Among the high foreign guests at the official ceremony in the center of the Ukrainian capital were US Special Representative Keith Kellogg and Donald Trump's personal spiritual adviser Pastor Mark Burns. Volodymyr Zelensky awarded them with the orders 'For Merit'. Kellogg received the first degree, and Burns the third. Security guarantees for Ukraine and the prospects of bilateral cooperation with the United States were key topics of negotiations between the head of the Ukrainian government and Keith Kellogg.

'Today we talked with the US special representative about security guarantees for Ukraine. They must be real — based on the UN Charter and with respect for our sovereignty. This is not just about the military component, but also about political resilience and economic capability. The American side sees the prospects for our cooperation — investments, partnership in recovery, and new technologies. Special emphasis is placed on drones that are changing the course of the war,' said Ukraine's Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

We also discussed with the special representative of President Trump the issues of critical minerals and industrial assets that Russia is trying to exploit in temporarily occupied territories, reported Yulia Svyrydenko. It is unacceptable for their extraction or trade to be legalized, emphasized the Prime Minister.

Ukraine is receiving significant military assistance from Canada and support from senior US officials on security and cooperation issues. This will allow the country to strengthen its defense capacity and protect itself from attempts at aggression.
