Changes in budget plans
According to The Sun: Rachel Reeves has decided to abandon the increase in income tax as part of the budget. It was previously anticipated that the Chancellor would raise the tax rate, thus breaking his campaign promise to improve the financial situation in the country. However, it has now become clear that these plans have been canceled due to concerns that it could alienate voters and Labour MPs from the back benches.
“This decision has been made to avoid negative consequences for the party,”sources noted.
The abandonment of the income tax increase indicates how important voter support is for the Labour party. During political transformations, such flexibility could impact future government decisions, especially in times of economic instability.
