The Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution establishing that July 28 will be a Day of Mourning and honoring the memory of Ukrainian soldiers, volunteers, and civilians who died, were oppressed, or executed in Russian captivity. This decision is made to pay tribute to eternal heroes and remind the state of its duty to preserve the memory and support the families of the fallen.
Day of Mourning
In the Verkhovna Rada, it was explained that this important decision is intended to remember the heroic deeds of Ukrainians, such as the fighters from Mariupol, who were executed after fulfilling their duty. It is also a reminder to Ukrainian society of the need to support those who are currently in captivity.
The document also calls on the state to act in the interests of society, to protect the truth and the memory of the fallen, and to fight for every citizen who has been captured.
Earlier, it was reported about the establishment of a working group in parliament on military risk insurance issues, as well as the adoption of a bill related to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
