The president's initiative

According to the speaker, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky proposed to dismiss Vasyl Malyuk from the position of head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

“A submission from the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the dismissal of Vasyl Malyuk from the position of head of the Security Service of Ukraine has been received by the Verkhovna Rada,” Stefanchuk wrote.

Quick consideration of the issue

The speaker emphasized that the deputies do not plan to delay the adoption of this decision.

“The Parliament will consider it in the near future according to the established procedure,” the speaker summarized.

Constitutional powers

According to the Constitution of Ukraine, the dismissal of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine falls within the powers of the Verkhovna Rada, which is implemented based on the President's submission. A majority vote is required to make a decision, specifically a minimum of 226 deputies.

Malyuk's resignation
