The enemy launched a rocket strike on a unit of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, resulting in the deaths and injuries of Ukrainian servicemen. According to information released by the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Monday, March 3, a thorough investigation of all circumstances surrounding this tragedy is ongoing.

Major General Drapaty: 'War requires quick decisions, responsibility, and new security standards'

The Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Major General Mykhailo Drapaty reacted emotionally to the tragedy, calling it 'a horrific consequence of the enemy's strike'. 'War requires quick decisions, responsibility, and new security standards, otherwise we lose more than we have. From the bottom of my heart, I express my sincerest condolences to the families of the deceased, comrades, and everyone who knew our warriors,' wrote Drapaty.

The Major General initiated an independent review involving military counterintelligence and promised to hold accountable all those involved. 'Everyone who made decisions that day, and everyone who did not make them in Time, will all bear responsibility. No one will hide behind explanations or formal reports,' he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine General Oleksandr Syrsky reported more details about the tragic incident. 'In the middle of the day, on March 1, the enemy attacked one of the military units on the territory of the training ground of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Dnipropetrovsk region. Due to the strike of the Iskander-M ballistic missile with cluster munitions, there are dead and wounded,' he noted.

According to Syrsky, a comprehensive commission is working at the scene, headed by the chief of the Main Military Law Enforcement Office of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 'During the investigation, the head of the unit training center and the commander of the military unit have been removed from their duties,' the general reported.

Additionally, the Commander-in-Chief instructed to check compliance with the requirements regarding timely notification of rocket danger and adherence to the prohibition of placing personnel in open areas. 'I express my sincere condolences to the relatives and loved ones of the fallen defenders of Ukraine. The Russian aggressor will pay dearly for the crime committed,' summarized Syrsky.

Earlier, Russian missile strikes destroyed a critical part of Ukraine's gas production system.
