The USA and Europe Prepare Security Guarantees for Ukraine: What's on the Table.
Ukraine, the USA, and European countries are considering the possibility of providing security guarantees for Ukraine. In particular, the possibility of deploying European troops as deterrent forces, with logistical support from the USA, is being discussed. There is also a discussion of providing deterrent equipment worth a large sum.
“American troops will not be on Ukrainian territory, but will support deterrent forces. They were previously opposed to this, but are now ready to join in. This is a big step forward,” emphasized Volodymyr Fesenko.
The possibility of legally securing security guarantees for Ukraine, analogous to agreements between the USA and other countries, is also under discussion. Russia is extremely dissatisfied with these actions, seeing them as a threat.
“Russia understands that the USA is not on their side, as they previously thought. However, the struggle for the terms of ending the war is still far from over,” added Fesenko.
Conducting negotiations on security guarantees for Ukraine is an important step in ensuring the country's defense capabilities and deterring potential threats.
