Ukraine Faces Record Night of Aerial Assault: 419 Targets Engaged, Over 40 Injured in Kyiv.
Massive Russian Strike Unleashed on Ukraine
According to UATV: On July 6, Russian occupation forces launched a large-scale attack on Ukraine, targeting the capital, Kyiv, with a mix of missiles and drones. The assault represents one of the most intense aerial bombardments since the war began. According to Ukraine's radio-technical forces, a staggering 419 aerial attack assets were detected.
The weaponry deployed included:
- 6 anti-ship 3M22 'Zircon' or 'Oniks' missiles, fired from Russia's Kursk region;
- 23 'Iskander-M' ballistic missiles and S-400 system missiles, launched from the Bryansk, Oryol, and Kursk regions;
- 33 Kh-101 cruise missiles, originating from the Vologda region;
- 6 'Kalibr' cruise missiles, launched from Novorossiysk;
- 351 attack drones of various types, including 'Shahed', 'Gerbera', 'Italmas', and 'Parody' decoy drones, launched from directions including Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk region.
By 08:30, Ukrainian forces had destroyed or suppressed 363 targets, comprising 37 missiles and 326 drones. Specifically, 31 Kh-101 cruise missiles, 6 'Kalibr' cruise missiles, and 326 enemy drones were shot down. Additionally, 29 ballistic missiles and 18 attack drones struck 34 locations, causing damage.
Preliminary reports indicate that over 40 people were wounded in Kyiv as a result of this massive strike. The situation remains critical, with authorities continuing to assess the full extent of the damage and casualties.
This attack is part of Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, which has persisted since 2014. The repeated targeting of civilian infrastructure and populated areas underscores the escalating conflict and the severe threat to public safety.
Ukrainian authorities are maintaining their efforts to protect citizens and ensure their security under martial law.
