Record egg export from Ukraine: what will happen to prices at home.
Egg prices in Ukraine started to fall before Easter due to increased supply and decreased demand. According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, over the past two weeks prices have dropped from 60.85 UAH to 57.68 UAH per dozen eggs. Further price decreases are anticipated during warm weather. According to an expert, prices will continue to fall as the season of low demand and high supply begins. Producers have increased egg exports, but no shortage is expected in the domestic market. Retail chains have also lowered prices before the holiday to attract buyers. The growth in demand for Ukrainian products in foreign markets is linked to outbreaks of avian influenza. This contributes to increased production and stabilization of prices in the domestic market.
