Zelensky on the situation at the front and the actions of the Russian Federation
Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia continues to kill people and shows no signs of stopping. The president shared information about the situation at the front in his Telegram channel.
According to Zelensky, there have been 137 combat clashes at the front in just one week, and this has become the norm. He emphasized that the Russian army does not decrease pressure and does not calculate its losses.
'In particular, only in the area of responsibility of our 32nd separate mechanized brigade in Donetsk, in the Pokrovsk direction, 209 invaders were destroyed in a week, from August 4 to 10. And this is the result of only one of our brigades.'
Ukrainian military actively act, defend their positions, and achieve success in all directions. We hold the defense, doing everything possible to repel the invaders.', — noted Zelensky. The head of state also reported that during the past week, Russian forces used over a thousand aerial bombs and nearly 1400 strike drones against Ukraine.
Zelensky noted that missile strikes continue.
'Russia continues the war, therefore deserves a strengthened reaction from the world. Russia does not stop killing, so it should not receive any treats or positives. This is not only a matter of morality but also a matter of logic. Violence will not add faith in the killer. But real protection of life will stop the killers.'The president thanked all countries that support Ukraine and help establish peace. Only in this way can we reach reconciliation with Russia. We are working on this around the clock. We thank our soldiers, rescuers, special services, and all who protect lives.', — summarized the president. After the last attack by the Russian Federation on Zaporizhzhia, Zelensky noted that Russia shows no desire to end the conflict and establish peace. On Sunday, Russian occupiers shelled Zaporizhzhia with guided bombs, with casualties among civilians.
