Why Ukraine’s EU Path Matters

According to Novyny.live: Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has stressed that Russia’s actions are aimed at discrediting Ukraine’s European integration—a move that directly contradicts Kremlin interests. He highlighted the critical need for international support and the development of analytical tools to counter disinformation. These remarks came in connection with the study 'Beyond the Battlefield: Russia's Information War Against Ukraine's European Future,' conducted by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

Budanov noted that 70% of respondents express trust in him, indicating broad public backing for his policies and strategies. He also emphasized that Ukraine’s European integration is the result of years of effort, tough decisions, and the resilience of Ukrainian society.

“Ukraine’s European integration is the outcome of years of hard work, difficult decisions, and the resilience of Ukrainian society. Despite the full-scale war, Ukraine continues its path toward the EU,” Kyrylo Budanov underscored.

The 'Economy of the Future' Strategy

Separately, the 'Economy of the Future' document is intended to serve as Ukraine’s version of a 'Marshall Plan.' This strategy was developed with input from experts at the Office of the President, the government, the World Bank, McKinsey & Company, international specialists, and representatives of Ukrainian businesses. Budanov asserted that “commitment to democracy and consistency in reforms are our powerful weapons against any disinformation.”

Budanov’s statements underscore the strategic importance of supporting EU integration initiatives in Ukraine, especially amid external challenges. The disinformation war waged by Russia highlights the need to ramp up international cooperation and deploy modern analytical tools. Public backing in Ukraine, along with joint efforts by the state and the private sector, can significantly influence the success of European integration processes—an essential step toward ensuring the country’s stability and development.
