One man was killed and nine civilians were injured as a result of the morning shelling of Kherson on August 21. The Russian army began shelling the Dnipro district of the city. The strikes were aimed at residential areas. Details of the attack are provided by FREEДOM.

Since 9 a.m., residential areas of the Dnipro district of Kherson have been under fire from the Russian army.

'Look, here is my first floor. All the windows are broken,' says Volodymyr, showing his home.

As a result of a direct hit from a Russian shell, an apartment in a residential building was destroyed. There was nothing left of the residence. The balcony and interior walls were completely destroyed, and all the windows were shattered. A resident of the opposite building, Volodymyr, was injured as a result of the shelling three years ago. Now, he says, it was a horror.

'There were many shellings. Very loud. I have lying children at home, they got scared. Many people were hurt. Many windows in apartments were broken. Double-glazed windows flew out. It's very hard and frightening,' says Kherson resident Yevhen.

At the scene, municipal services and civilians are clearing the aftermath of the shelling. They are collecting broken glass and shattered slate – one of the strikes hit the roof of a five-story building.

'The whole strike was here, completely. I have already cleaned up. It punched through holes. It wrapped DVP. Although the shields are standing. But still, it broke through. People were standing below, talking. Two women were standing. They were hit. But we all three didn’t hear the hit at all. The first hit was, and everyone just ran here to escape. And immediately two minutes later – the second went. Of course, we started directing all the people,' says Kherson resident Ludmila.

The morning shelling claimed the life of a man. At the moment of the strike, he was on the street and died from his injuries on the spot. All the injured are receiving medical assistance. However, the Russians continue to fire on Kherson.

As a result of the shelling of the peaceful city of Kherson, nine people were injured and one person was killed. The Russian army struck residential areas, destroying their own homes, injuring and killing innocent residents. The situation remains tense and escalated; the conflict in eastern Ukraine continues.
