Zelensky on the anniversary of the operation in Kursk

Today, August 6, on the anniversary of the Kursk operation, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky thanked everyone involved in carrying out tasks in Kursk. In addition, the head of state showed exclusive footage of the operation.

The relevant post and video were published by the leader of Ukraine on Telegram.

Let us remind you that exactly a year ago, on August 6, the battles in the Kursk region began in the morning. That was when the Armed Forces of Ukraine crossed the Russian-Ukrainian border near the city of Sudzha. The president noted that for more than a year Ukraine has been conducting active actions on Russian territory—in the Kursk and Belgorod regions.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukrainians once again proved to the world that it is entirely possible to put Russia in its place and respond appropriately to its strikes.

'The Kursk operation was indeed special. The world's intelligence did not predict it. The Russians did not expect it. When many in the world thought that the situation was at a dead end, Ukrainians showed that they would continue to defend their independence and force Russia to end the war'
, said the leader.

Additionally, Zelensky thanked everyone involved in the Kursk operation.

'I thank every soldier, sergeant, and officer, everyone who was involved in carrying out tasks in Kursk. Everyone who prevented another full-scale strike by Russia on our Sumy and Kharkiv regions. We defend Ukraine. And we remember everyone who gave their lives in battles for the sake of Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!'
— summarized the president.

It is noted that on the anniversary of the Kursk operation, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi spoke about the successes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and named the losses of the Russian Federation in Kursk. Earlier, Syrskyi reacted to the statement of the commander of the 47th separate mechanized brigade Oleksandr Shyrshyn, who publicly criticized plans regarding combat tasks in Kursk.

On the anniversary of the Kursk operation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed gratitude to all participants in the operation in Kursk and emphasized the importance of defending Ukraine's independence. Analyzing the past year, Zelensky highlighted the importance of Ukraine's actions on Russian territory and expressed confidence in the country's ability to defend its independence in the future.
