‘He was stabbing everyone he saw.’ Seventh grader injured six children with a knife in Portugal.
A 12-year-old student from the city of Azambuja, near Lisbon, injured six of his classmates with a knife. The incident took place in the school cafeteria after lunch. The boy took a knife and attacked everyone he saw. After that, he was locked in a classroom until the police arrived, but he was not detained due to his age. The incident happened completely unexpectedly, and the cause is still unknown.
Six students aged 12-14 were injured in the attack. They have injuries to their hands and abdomen. One girl had to be hospitalized, but her life is not in danger. Classes at the Azambuja school were suspended as a result of the attack but will resume on September 18. Psychologists will be brought in for the injured children.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation of Portugal has already contacted the school principal. They are concerned about the health condition of the injured students and wish them a speedy recovery.
This is not the first such incident. Recently, in Russia, a schoolboy attacked his classmates with a hammer, and in Germany, a woman with a knife attacked bus passengers, injuring five people.
