Ukraine's Foreign Minister Condemns Russian Strike on US-Owned Plant.
Statement from Ukraine's Foreign Minister
According to UATV: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has condemned a Russian attack on a US-owned factory in the Sumy region, stating that Moscow cannot claim to seek economic dialogue with the United States while targeting American business assets. The strike, which occurred on February 21, hit a non-military facility, raising further questions about Russia's strategic intentions in the conflict. This incident is part of a broader pattern of attacks on civilian infrastructure that has characterized the war.
The targeted plant, which began operations in the 1990s, is a significant component of the local economy. Sybiha argued that Russia's aggressive actions, including over 30 separate strikes in the Dnipropetrovsk region, demonstrate Moscow's disregard for international norms and the principles governing economic relations between nations.

Attacks on economic assets, particularly those owned by foreign companies, risk severe consequences for international relations and global economic ties. Ukrainian officials are urging the international community to recognize that such Russian actions violate the foundations of international law and could warrant further sanctions against Moscow. A coordinated global response is seen as crucial to supporting regional stability and protecting international economic interests from such destabilizing tactics.
