Odesa Region Targeted in January 28, 2024 Attack
According to Novyny.live: On January 28, 2024, Russian forces launched a strike using kamikaze drones against Ukraine's Odesa region. The assault damaged residential buildings, religious sites, warehouses, administrative structures, and vehicles. This attack is part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukrainian port infrastructure and cities, resulting in civilian casualties.
Impact and Response
The drone attack injured three civilians. A 21-year-old man suffered shrapnel wounds, while two men, aged 67 and 80, received on-site medical treatment. All fires ignited by the strike were extinguished by the morning of January 29.
A total of 106 rescue workers using 30 pieces of equipment were deployed to manage the aftermath. Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa regional military administration, stated that emergency teams took measures to ensure resident safety and restore normal infrastructure operations.
