According to Novyny.live: On January 27, 2023, Russian forces launched a drone attack on a passenger train in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine. The incident occurred near the village of Yazykove, within the Barvinkove territorial community of the Izium district. The train, operating on the 'Chop – Kharkiv – Barvinkove' route, was hit three times by unmanned aerial vehicles.
At the time of the assault, the train was carrying more than 155 passengers. Preliminary reports indicate the attack resulted in three fatalities. A man and a woman were also injured and sought medical attention following the strike.
Official Response to the Attack
The Izium District Prosecutor's Office has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the incident. Initial findings suggest the attack was carried out using 'Geran-2' type drones. This tragedy underscores the perilous conditions in the region and has heightened anxiety among the local population.
