According to inkorr.com: On Wednesday, October 8, the RF army struck Sumy using drones. Several 'hits' were recorded. This was reported by the head of the Sumy city military administration, Serhiy Kryvosheyenko.
'The first 'hit' was in the Kovalivka district of the city. As a result of the strike, a non-residential building caught fire, and private residential houses were damaged. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties,' the message states.
The next drone strike hit the roof of a residential building in the Zarichne district. Information about the events is being clarified.
Previous attacks on Sumy
Recall that in the morning of October 7, Sumy also became a target for Russian troops, resulting in damage to a trolleybus and windows in residential and non-residential buildings. No casualties were found at the scene, as assistance was provided to the driver and a passenger.
Earlier, Russian troops attacked a perinatal center in Sumy, leading to a roof fire in the building. This was reported by the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak and the mayor of Sumy Artem Kobzar. At that moment, there were 11 children, 35 patients, and 120 staff members in the center, all of whom managed to descend to a shelter, thus avoiding casualties.
By attacking with drones, the Russian army is once again trying to harm the civilian population of Sumy. The attacks on Sunday and Wednesday caused significant damage to buildings and residential premises. These attacks are becoming more frequent and indicate a deterioration in the situation in Eastern Ukraine, increasing the threat to civilians in the region.
