Intensified Russian Attacks Over One Week: 2,200 Drones, 1,730 Aerial Bombs, and 106 Missiles.
Ukraine Under Fire: A Week of Escalated Strikes
According to Novyny.live: Over the past seven days, Russia has ramped up its aerial assault on Ukraine, deploying a massive arsenal of drones, missiles, and glide bombs. According to available data, Russian forces launched approximately 2,200 attack drones, released more than 1,730 guided aerial bombs, and fired 106 missiles of various types—nearly half of which were ballistic.
Several Ukrainian cities have come under sustained bombardment, including:
- Sumy
- Zaporizhzhia
- Kherson
- Kharkiv
- Dnipro
The most devastating strike hit Kyiv, killing 31 people and wounding 102 others, among them four children. This recent surge in attacks highlights the ongoing danger to civilians and the shifting tactics employed by Russian forces.
“Every day, we must defend lives from these assaults. We already have the capability to effectively intercept over 90% of drones, but unfortunately, not all ballistic missiles can be shot down.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
The stepped-up bombardment signals a further escalation of the conflict and a persistent threat to Ukraine’s civilian population. As Russian troops adopt new tactics and weaponry, strengthening air defense systems has become increasingly critical. The international community must acknowledge these challenges and continue supporting Ukraine in its efforts to protect its citizens.
“We need responses from our partners regarding our requests for air defense. Every shipment of interceptor missiles is real protection for human lives.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
