Russia accuses Ukraine of planning a chemical provocation: what is known about the new fake.
According to ТСН: A new information campaign has begun in Russia aimed at discrediting Ukraine. During this campaign, fakes are spread about the allegedly prepared 'chemical provocations' by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkiv region.
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation, the enemy claims in controlled media about the arrival in Izium of Ukrainian units engaged in radiation, chemical, and biological protection. Propagandists assure that between January 6 and 8, Ukraine allegedly plans to carry out a terrorist act using chemical substances.
Refutation of unfounded claims
The Center for Countering Disinformation notes that such claims have no evidence to support them and are part of the 'information alibi' tactic, where Russia precedes accusations against Ukraine for actions it itself may undertake.
Manipulation on religious themes
Propaganda actively uses religious themes, linking fake reports to the celebration of Orthodox Christmas. This is done to enhance the emotional impact and set the civilian population against the Ukrainian government.
Use of chemical weapons by Russia
The Center emphasizes that the Russian Federation has repeatedly been mentioned in reports by international organizations regarding the use of chemical substances and is under sanctions for the use of prohibited chemical weapons.
It is also worth mentioning that earlier there were reports of an alleged massive drone attack on Putin's residence, however, local residents do not confirm any explosions. Experts consider this an information provocation by the Kremlin aimed at disrupting peace negotiations.
Thus, Russia continues its information warfare against Ukraine, using fakes and manipulations aimed at creating a negative image of our country on the international stage. It is important to remain attentive to such claims and not to succumb to information provocations that may destabilize the situation in the region.
