According to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskiy, the Russian Federation is increasing its activity in the northern direction and is conducting a large-scale offensive in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. He confirmed that Russia continues its strategic operation aimed at capturing Ukrainian territory. According to Syrskiy, Russia is attempting to seize the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as parts of Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions. In recent days, the intensity of offensive actions has sharply increased in all directions. Additionally, Russia intends to occupy the entire Donetsk region, particularly the Lyman direction. Reserves for the offensive are already being accumulated, and a push on the front is planned for May. According to ISW, since November 2024, the pace of Russian troops' advance in Ukraine has decreased. Fewer occupied territories have been recorded compared to March of the same year.Analysis:According to news, the Russian Federation continues its offensive in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions and seeks to capture the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, as well as other parts of Ukraine. Hostilities are becoming increasingly intense, indicating that Russia is not stopping in its strategic offensive. Under such circumstances, Ukraine must be ready for an escalation of the conflict and defend its territory.
