Moscow and Tehran Deepen Military Ties: Russia Shares US Base Locations with Iran.
Russia-Iran Military Cooperation on the Rise
According to UATV: Military collaboration between Russia and Iran is intensifying, particularly regarding the use of attack drones. Moscow has broadened its support for Tehran in its standoff with the United States and Israel, now including the sharing of intelligence on the positions of American military installations across the Middle East. This partnership has the potential to significantly alter the regional military landscape.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Russia earned roughly $10 billion during the first two weeks of the Middle East conflict. A spokesperson for Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented:
“Russia is trying to profit from the situation in the Middle East”
The Ukrainian leader also noted that Moscow is funneling the money gained from the crisis into weapons production for its war against Ukraine.
Rising Threats for Ukraine and the Wider Region
For its part, Ukraine has sought to block the flow of Iranian drones to Russia ever since the full-scale invasion began. These efforts underscore Kyiv’s growing alarm over the military alliance between Moscow and Tehran, which threatens to intensify regional conflicts and jeopardize security in Ukraine.
The deepening military ties between Russia and Iran carry serious implications for stability in the Middle East, as both nations aim to push back against American influence in the area. Given that Ukraine is also under threat from Russia, the need for a strong international response to such alliances is becoming increasingly urgent. This cooperation could create new security challenges not only for Ukraine but for the entire European continent.
