Russia launched a massive strike on Ukraine's energy system: consequences and recovery
Russian forces struck the energy infrastructure of Ukraine with a massive blow, resulting in damages to the Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Vinnytsia regions. Ukrainian energy companies and repair crews are working around the clock to restore damaged facilities.

According to inkorr.com: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that the attack occurred as a result of the launch of 52 missiles of various types and more than 600 strike drones. Many facilities sustained serious damage, including a bombing strike at the Sloviansk thermal power plant, which led to the death of two people and numerous injuries.

International Support

In addressing the nation, the president emphasized that international partners are ready to assist Ukraine in restoring its energy system. In particular, Norway will provide support in procuring gas, while Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands will help with equipment supplies for electricity generation. The important cooperation with G7 countries regarding support for Ukraine in the energy sector was also noted.

Major combat operations continue on various fronts, particularly in the Pokrovsk direction, as well as in areas bordering the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

These events highlight a serious challenge to Ukraine's energy infrastructure from Russian forces.
