Russia has once again attacked Ukraine's gas infrastructure: what are the consequences.
Attack on Ukraine's gas infrastructure
According to inkorr.com: Russian troops have once again launched an assault on Ukraine's gas infrastructure. These attacks target civilian facilities that are critically important for gas supply during the winter period. Serhiy Koretsky, head of 'Naftogaz', emphasized that these actions have no military purpose and are terrorist in nature.
“There are hits and destructions,” Koretsky said, adding that company specialists are already working on-site to eliminate the consequences.
Widespread aggression campaign
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that these attacks are part of a broader campaign of aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine's energy and critical infrastructure ahead of the heating season. He pointed out that more than 50 missiles and about 500 strike drones were used in this attack, which specifically targeted several regions of Ukraine.
This assault once again confirms that Russia continues its aggressive actions, attempting to destabilize Ukraine's energy sector. The country's authorities are calling for increased defense and preparations for the next winter season, as energy security is one of the main components of national security.
